Documents on demand

We understand how important it is for clients to have full certification for our vessels and crew, quite often in a hurry. We pride ourselves in ensuring certification is up to date and available within seconds of being requested. CRC operate an in-house Planned Maintenance System ensuring all vessels are in a permanent state of readiness.

Maritime Coastguard Agency – coded vessels

All CRC vessels carry full MCA (Maritime Coastguard Agency) coding certificates and are subject to regular survey and inspection which is performed by MECAL on behalf of the MCA. Many of our Ribs are also endorsed to the Police Boat Code and see regular service with UK policing authorities.

Police boat code

CRC are the only UK marine charter company with boats certified to the Police boat code. We have both open Ribs and cabin Ribs fully certified to operate under Police Boat Code B – “A Code of Practice for the Construction, Machinery, Equipment and Operation of Sea-Going Police Rigid Inflatable Boats and Other Small Vessels Operating up to 60 Miles from a Safe Haven”.

International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA)

Commercial Rib Charter Ltd is a registered vessel operator within the IMCA Common Marine Inspection Document (CMID) system. All CRC vessels have been surveyed to the CMID system meaning our clients can start contracts immediately without delays caused by surveys.

Port of London Authority (PLA)

CRC’s vessels operating on the River Thames operate within the Codes of Practice and regulations set by the PLA and are certified accordingly. Our crew members hold the Local Knowledge Endorsement (LKE) alongside their Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) professional qualifications. Our vessels operating above 12 knots are fitted with the correct specification amber flashing light and class ‘A’ AIS.

Crew qualifications

Skippers selected for commercial duties have passed professional examinations relevant to the area they are operating in and carry commercial endorsements including Medical, Sea Survival, PPR, SRC/GMDSS Maritime Radio Operator and STCW95 Basic Training. Many of our skippers also hold MCA Master 200 and dangerous goods awareness training.
