Commercial RIB Charter dive support vessel CRC Sentinel conducting offshore operations, providing professional marine support, survey, and subsea access services in UK waters

Civil Aviation Authority approval

Drones (unmanned aerial vehicles) offer a cost efficient, safe and quick way of carrying out aerial surveys and site inspections as well as largely replacing helicopters for aerial photography and film production. The Civil Aviation Authority have granted Commercial Rib Charter a ‘Permission for Commercial Operations’ authorisation for all vessels on our fleet.

The right boat for the project

The selection of vessel will be determined by the filming location, restrictions that apply to the location, the size of drone and the crew required to operate it. With over 40 vessels ranging from 4.8m Ribs to 20m, and a focus on shallow draft vessels, Commercial Rib Charter will have a vessel to fit both your project requirements, budget and virtually any location with water!

Large drone platform

Our catamarans, CRC Sentinel, and CRC Vulcan are especially well suited to larger and more complex projects, particularly filming. Being twin hulled they are stable and their wide beam provides plentiful deck space clear of overhead obstructions. The boats have comfortable seating for 12 passengers and room inside the spacious cabin for both equipment and monitors as well as providing ‘clean’ mains power.

Rapid mobilisation of a drone platform

With spare passenger seating removed on our 7.8m open Ribs, they offer 3.5m2 of clear deck space free of any superstructure, offering a 360 degree view for the UAV pilot. Open Ribs can be mobilised anywhere in Europe with or without crew almost immediately. All other vessels on our fleet can be mobilised within 24 hours.
