Rising to the challenge
Commercial Rib Charter have designed and built the world’s first amphibious crew transfer vessel, ‘CRC Walrus‘. CRC are the first company to successfully address 24h crew transfer to turbines built in intertidal zones. CRC Walrus is a 13m landing craft style vessel with three hydraulically deployable and driven wheels, seating for 8 pax and 2 crew, a push-on bow and deck cargo capacity of 1,000kg. Delivered in early 2023, ‘CRC Walrus’ is currently working on RWE’s Scroby Sands wind farm.

Innovative at heart
Over the past 15 years, CRC have been at the forefront of vessel innovation in the offshore industry. We pioneered, shallow draft, jet powered, road transportable, 12 pax cabin Rib CTVs. We redesigned a 20m catamaran into a one-of-a-kind dive support vessel capable of independently handling its own 4-point anchor spread whilst giving cruising speeds of 20 knots. CRC Walrus continues this spirit of originality and innovation.
Leading with new technology
CRC Walrus operates OXE diesel outboards to give an excellent power to weight ratio, low fuel consumption and a favourable emission profile in comparison with any conventional inboard vessel of the same size and speed. The engines may also run on HVO fuel to further reduce CO2 emissions.
Amphibious fleet
To complement CRC Walrus, CRC own three 7.7m Sealegs amphibious open Ribs, ‘CRC Gannet’, ‘CRC Cygnet‘ and ‘CRC Snipe‘ are available to charter with skipper or on bareboat hire. Featuring the tried and tested amphibious running gear provided by Sealegs of New Zealand, Cygnet, Snipe and Gannet are three of only a handful of coded amphibious open Ribs on the UK market.
