More than just a Rib

CRC Ventura combines the speed and manoeuvrability of a small cabin Rib with the passenger-carrying capacity and safety standards traditionally found in larger crew transfer catamarans. With a shallow draft of just 1m, Ventura is ideal for shallow draft crew transfers, cable laying support and surveying. Ventura is similar to CRC Galaxy and CRC Voyager (powered by fuel efficient Volvo D6 inboards), but coupled to Volvo Penta outdrives rather than water jets. This gives Ventura a higher cruising speed and a sprint speed of 35 knots.

Designed to offshore standards

Design features on Ventura, Galaxy and Voyager include a bespoke push-on bow and transfer platform with handrails, large aft deck, generous saloon seating, a full galley and heads. As standard the vessels are equipped and coded to MCA Category 2 (60 miles day and night), and feature man overboard equipment including recovery davit, stretcher, harnesses and Category C medical supplies.

Rapid mobilisation

Being easily road transportable without the need for escorts, our 15m Ribs can be mobilised rapidly anywhere in Europe and in recent years have seen work in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Spain. Compared to conventional catamaran CTVs which can only be mobilised by sea (often being slow and expensive), our cabin Ribs can be loaded and on the move within 24hrs of a booking.

P5 Irish Passenger Boat Licence

CRC Ventura has a P5 Irish Passenger Boat Licence allowing the vessel to operate within 30 miles of land from any port in the Republic of Ireland. CRC Ventura carries all the safety equipment required by the Irish Department of Transport.

Daughter craft capabilities

All of our 15m cabin Ribs can operate as daughter craft to motherships providing deep offshore crew transfers or diving support. These vessels have good seakeeping abilities and can transfer safely in up to 1.25m Hs.
