More than just a Rib
Our two water jet powered 15m cabin Ribs, CRC Voyager and CRC Galaxy, are unique within our fleet and indeed the wider market; they combine the speed and manoeuvrability of a small cabin Rib with the passenger-carrying capacity and safety standards found in traditional large crew transfer catamarans. With a shallow draft of just 80cm combined with fuel efficient diesel inboard engines coupled to Hamilton Jet water jets, Voyager and Galaxy are ideal for shallow draft crew transfers, cable laying support and surveying.
Designed to offshore standards
Design features on Voyager and Galaxy include a bespoke push-on bow and transfer platform with handrails, large aft deck, generous saloon seating, a full galley and heads. As standard, both vessels are equipped and coded to MCA Category 2 (60 miles day and night), and feature man overboard equipment including recovery davit, stretcher, harnesses and Category C medical supplies.
Daughter craft capabilities
Both our water jet powered 15m cabin Ribs have been built to operate as daughter craft to motherships providing deep offshore crew transfers or diving support. Both vessels have good seakeeping abilities and can transfer safely in up to 1.25m Hs.
Rapid mobilisation
Being easily road transportable without the need for escorts, our 15m Ribs can be mobilised rapidly anywhere in Europe and in recent years have seen work in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Spain. Compared to conventional catamaran CTVs which can only be mobilised by sea (often being slow and expensive), our cabin Ribs can be loaded and on the move within 24hrs of a booking.
P5 Irish Passenger Boat Licence
CRC Voyager has a P5 Irish Passenger Boat Licence allowing the vessel to operate within 30 miles of land from any port in the Republic of Ireland. CRC Voyager carries all the safety equipment required by the Irish Department of Transport.
