It might be nearing the end of the summer season but it’s still all systems go here at CRC and we thought we would give you an update on what’s been going on.
A busy and successful summer has seen virtually every vessel in the fleet put to use all around the country, from London to Lowestoft and Portland to Peterhead. We’ve worked with new and existing clients on a range of projects from wind farms and cable landings to diving and safety cover.
Our newest vessel, CRC Sentinel, a 19m CTV and Dive Support catamaran has just finished 5 weeks of crew transfer work on a wind farm in the Thames Estuary, providing 24/7 transfers to a jack-up barge changing major wind turbine components. CRC Vanguard is now also home after nearly 6 months of crew transfers to various jack-ups on the north east coast; and CRC Sabre is continuing into the autumn providing guard and safety cover on one of the world’s largest floating solar farms in London.
We have also assisted with half a dozen successful cable landings this year for a range of clients, with a further pull based out of Grimsby due for the end of the month. These operations typically require excellent crew and vessel flexibility, perfect weather and tide conditions, and support from multiple contractors. At one stage this summer we had nearly 40 skippers and crew working across our fleet on six projects, most of which working 24/7.
