Commercial Rib Charter has expanded its commercial diving support services with the conversion of CRC Galaxy into a fully equipped dive support vessel.
Already a proven 15m cabin Rib, CRC Galaxy has now been configured to provide a practical, capable and efficient platform for commercial diving operations. The conversion combines the vessel’s offshore capability, shallow draft and waterjet propulsion with an integrated dive spread designed to support safe, controlled and efficient dive activity across a wide range of marine projects.
Fully integrated dive support system
CRC Galaxy is fitted with a complete integrated dive system, including a 3-diver panel with standby provision and 100m umbilical’s supporting air, pneumo, communications and video.
Subsea monitoring is managed through AXSUB recording systems and a central command screen, giving the dive team clear oversight throughout the operation. This setup allows CRC Galaxy to support inspection, maintenance, survey and infrastructure diving projects where reliable monitoring and communication are essential.
Practical launch and recovery setup
As part of the conversion, a bespoke stern dive platform and ladder have been added to support diver launch and recovery. The working area is floodlit and monitored by CCTV, while an emergency rescue davit is fitted to assist recovery operations where required. This gives the crew clear visibility and control from the dive station, helping to support safe and efficient working in more demanding marine environments.
Shallow draft dive vessel with offshore capability
CRC Galaxy retains the key features that make it well suited to commercial marine work. Twin Volvo Penta engines paired with Hamilton waterjets provide strong maneuverability, while the vessel’s 0.8m draft allows it to operate in nearshore, shallow and restricted areas. With MCA Category 2 coding, CRC Galaxy can also operate up to 60 nautical miles offshore, making it suitable for both coastal and offshore dive support projects.
Onboard welfare for dive teams
Onboard welfare has also been considered as part of the dive support setup. The enclosed cabin includes suspension seating, galley facilities and heads with shower, providing a comfortable working environment for dive teams during longer days on the water. Integrated power systems and backup supply further support the operation of critical dive equipment throughout the working day
Expanding commercial rib charter’s dive support fleet

The conversion of CRC Galaxy strengthens Commercial Rib Charter’s wider dive support capability, sitting alongside our existing dive vessel CRC Sentinel, mobile Scuba Replacement Pack (SRP) and compressor pack.
Whether the requirement is for inspection, maintenance, survey support, harbour works, infrastructure projects or nearshore commercial diving operations, CRC Galaxy provides a flexible dive support vessel that can be deployed quickly and efficiently.
With vessels operating across the UK and Europe, Commercial Rib Charter can support marine contractors, dive teams and project managers with practical vessel solutions tailored to the job.
CRC Galaxy’s conversion gives clients another capable option when a dedicated dive support vessel is required, combining speed, access, onboard welfare and a fully integrated dive system in one compact platform.
