How do I join the CRC freelance team?

We are frequently asked, do you have any job opportunities at Commercial Rib Charter and if so, what qualifications do I need to hold?

Please see below the minimum qualification requirements below:

Freelance Skippers

  • RYA Yachtmaster Offshore – Must be Commercially Endorsed or MCA Master 200 (preferable)

  • STCW95 Basic Training – Firefighting, First Aid, PSSR and Sea Survival. Please note with the exception of PSSR each of these elements must be renewed every 5 years.

  • VHF Short Range Radio

  • ENG1 Medical

Freelance Crew

  • STCW95 Basic Training – Firefighting, First Aid, PSSR and Sea Survival. Please note with the exception of PSSR each of these elements must be renewed every 5 years.

  • ENG1 Medical

If you don’t currently hold the minimum required qualifications, then please note that we do not run or pay for training courses, however we do have strong links with the recommended companies listed below who will be able to help you.

Powerboat Training UK

For all RYA Powerboat, Yachtmaster and Shorebased courses we highly recommend Powerboat Training UK.

 Fireaid

For SWTC Basic Safety Training, Fireaid are able to offer a full 5 day course and refresher courses, please contact 01425 674390 or email info@fireaid.com.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer work to anyone without the required qualifications.

On some occations our clients and projects require a few additional qualifications such as:

  • Slinger Banksman

  • Working at Heights 

So you may wish to consider obtaining these qualifications in addition to maximise your project suitablilty, however they are not essential.
