What is PLA Certification?
A PLA Certificate of Compliance is a marine certificate issued by the Port of London Authority. The PLA are responsible for the licencing of inland waterways and vessels operating commercially on the tidal Thames. All commercial vessels operating, working or mooring on or within the Port of London limits are required to hold a valid PLA certificate.
Do CRC have PLA Certified Workboats?
Yes – CRC Vanguard, CRC Galaxy, CRC Hercules and 8 x Open Ribs are all fully PLA licenced and ready to operate on the Thames.
Our vessels have undertaken extensive safety, technical and competency standard inspections from qualified Marine Surveyors within the PLA’s vessel licensing team to ensure that our vessels meet the highest of standards.
What if these particular vessels aren’t suitable for your project?
That’s not a problem! Should one of our other vessels on fleet be more suitable to your project requirement then we would happily get that particular vessel PLA licenced.
What can CRC do on the Thames?
Commercial Rib Charter have extensive experience and are on hand to support with projects on the Thames, whether it’s for the Thames Tideway project as a dive boat, survey, safety vessel or something else we have just the right boat on fleet, licenced and ready to mobilise.
