It’s been another successful and busy year for CRC, here’s a brief overview of whats been going on:
- CRC Voyager has had a busy year, after receiving a P5 Irish passenger licence we assisted with the installation of the Greenlink subsea cable in southern Ireland before transiting back to Wales to meet up with some of our other vessels, CRC Sentinel, CRC Vanguard, and CRC Defender, to complete the installation on the UK side. CRC Voyager has also been in the Channel Islands assisting with a habitat restoration research project on the islets surrounding Guernsey.
- CRC Tempest DSV has been out all year on various diving projects, from a subsea cable installation on the west coast of the UK and now out to an offshore structure 150Nm from Aberdeen to assist with repairs to some offshore structures.
- CRC Vanguard & our newest vessel, CRC Vigilant have spent the year assisting with crew transfers to various jack up barges, supporting drilling and geotechnical survey operations, both seem to be the vessel of choice for JUB transfers for most of our clients.
- CRC Galaxy coupled with our Scuba Replacement Pack (SRP) has been very popular this year, working on multiple cable installations, from Bude all the way to the beautiful Orkney Islands.
- CRC Gladiator spent most of the summer having a beak from its usual long term project on the East coast and made the long journey around the very tidal Port of Mostyn to assist with a cable repair project, before coming back to Lymington for some routine maintenance.
- CRC Sentinel carried out shallow water diving operations for the Greenlink project utilising its 4-point anchoring system to perfectly position divers during 24hr operations, before transiting down to the south coast to support diving operations on an offshore wind farm
- As for our amphibious boats, CRC Gannet, CRC Cygnet and CRC Walrus, these have proved to be very popular this year with all 3 vessels assisting on various projects since the start of the year, giving our clients access to previously inaccessible areas during all states of tide.
With an increase in diving requirements across the industry, watch out for some of our vessel modifications in the coming months!!
In total, CRC have supported over 40 projects mobilising 100’s of crew and skippers all over the UK and Europe over the last several months.
