Commercial Rib Charter operate a fleet of vessels ranging from 3m up to 20m in length, many of which are equipped with survey poles or A frames.
We also have a purpose built Dive Support Vessels which enable us to assist with any underwater surveys or UXO clearance operations.
Our Cabin Ribs and Catamarans are able to provide shelter for sensitive survey equipment and have large open deck which provide an ideal launch and recovery platform for drones involved in aerial surveys.
As soon as a project is confirmed by our clients, and we have the technical specs of the survey head, the project management team will liaise with our supplier network to ensure we have the correct flanges available for the clients survey equipment, this normally requires some fabrication , we also provide a desk space in the wheel house for the surveyors, along with a monitor bracket mounted at the helm for the vessel master to maintain the tracks given by the surveyors.
During mobilisation, we will assist with the set up of the survey pole and calibration of the survey equipment, usually this is done by transiting certain routes at speeds set by the surveyor, all of our vessel masters are experienced in survey projects and are familiar with the setup procedure, this is a must given the value of the survey equipment.
Surveys can vary in type but at CRC we have been involved in many but are not limited to; archeological, bathymetric, hydrographic, ecological, geological, construction site surveys, UXO and inspection surveys.
